Tomorrow at each Johnny Cupcakes retail location the first couple to come in and kiss will receive 2 free JC Valentine’s Day shirts, as well as receiving 15% off anything else they purchase! The 2nd and 3rd couples to lock lips will receive 1 free shirt and 15% off the rest of their purchase. All other couples that come in throughout the weekend (Feb. 4th-5th) and smooch will receive 15% off their order.

Devin Jameson had been trying to get me to speak at his school for quite some time now, but our schedules hadn’t matched up. Recently I was able to extend my west coast travels to squeeze in a handful of meetings, teachings and other work activities.
Windward School is a very special place. Aside from it’s beautiful property, I was taken back with how well the teachers connect with their students on all levels. Every single student that I had spoken with was motivated, articulate with their sentences, asked the right questions, were engaging, and they all seemed far more mature than other students their age. If I raised my future children in Los Angeles, I would for sure enroll them at Winward School.
Located in the Mars Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles, this independent school has been operating for 40 years now. Some alumni include; Max Bemis, singer/songwriter of Say Anything; Darius Morris, NBA point guard; Nicole Holofcener, screenwriter/director of Sex and the City; Anna Paquin, actress of True Blood fame; Robert and Jason Schwartzman, musicians/actors. I’m excited to see how far these students push themselves during and after school. I have no doubt that they will join the roster of the aforementioned notable alumni.

Well before doors opened, there were lines of people stetching down the street and around the building. Most of which were travelers from the other islands, as well as the mainland. Thank you for making time for this event, it means a lot to me. I had no idea what to expect, as this was my first time in Hawaii. The turnout and hospitality was overwhelming.

Loft In Space hosts frequent events, art, and other exhibitions. Stay connected and keep supporting Fresh Cafe and Loft In Space at 831 Queen Street, Honolulu.

A piece of the crowd a bit before the lecture began. We had to play Tetris with humans, as the same amount of people that were inside, was also outside waiting to get in. Thus the garage doors to the parking lot opened up, as did more standing room inside.

We even had complimentary real cupcakes.

Oh yeah, here’s my mom and I! She came out for this, and to see her sister, Linda, who’s partially responsible for my obsession with neat packaging as she got me many He-Man and Thundercats action figures throughout my childhood.

My mom helped wrap t-shirts and check customers out at our event, with our signature Johnny Cupcakes wrapping paper.

Lofa and Bobby helped manage the crowd throughout the evening. Without these two, this evening would of been a mess.

Kavet of Light Sleepers spun records after the lecture until the sun was about to come up. In addition to his clothing line, Kavet always has a handful of projects and events he’s connected to in one way or another. He does a fine job curating underground culture around Honolulu, so stay up on his adventures and posts. I hope to spend more time with this guy during my next visit!

Tiffany of Fresh Cafe x Loft In Space. who is responsible for all of this. The multi-tasking master who is always figuring out ways to creatively bring the community together, with her wonderful team. I can’t thank her enough for providing such a positive experience during our entire stay. With a heart as big as the island, Tiffany is always putting everyone else first. As I mentioned earlier, support Fresh Cafe and Loft In Space. We miss you and the crew already!

This crew were some of the first people at the event, along with Ry. One of them even flew out from Seattle, Washington just for the event! It was awesome seeing a different old JC shirt on each member of their awesome friends club!

In Cupcakes We Trust.

Rolling pin in hand, Coty Gonzales has been my internet friend for years. He has an great website where he reviews t-shirts from all over the world. Keep up the great work Coty!

Micah with his Converge shirt, is an entrepreneur as well. His very clever, Hawaiian based brand, Diamond Head Clothing is great. In due time, this brand will be huge in Hawaii and beyond.

And another t-shirt entrepreneur of the brand Poly Love. I tried fighting this guy but he backed down. Jk. But really, he said he’s got my back if I need him.

Someone had me scribble on their permission slip.

Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. It’s Ry. This thoughtful, soft spoken customer of ours has cheered up many of my team, my family, hundreds of JC customers, and myself. Whether it be positive notes, surprise packages in the mail filled with treats, or magically showing up across the map at our events. It’s less of his presents, but more of his presence. Ry is one of the good guys and I thank him for the outstanding support and all around good vibes.

Thank you for the help with flyering!
