It has been a dream of mine to open up a shop in another country. My team and I don’t know much about international business, but with teamwork, a little bit of risk taking, PMA, and passion, we made it happen. Two years ago I brought my mom and dad to London for their very first time and we built out the shop together. I’ve never seen my parents smile so much in their lives. You should have seen my dad getting off the plane in England! As he smiled ear to ear, the first thing he did was pull out his iPhone to play The Clash’s London Calling.
Just the other day we celebrated our 2 year anniversary of our Johnny Cupcakes London shop at 10 Fouberts Place, Carnaby. Supporters, die-hard collectors, friends, family and curious people queued up in line, wrapping around the block all day and all night. This has been a dream come true, and still feels like a dream. If I can do this with a learning disability and something as weird as cupcakes, you can do something just as successful.
