Johnny Cupcakes is the original unordinary bakeshop.

After starting out of the trunk of a car in 2001, Johnny Cupcakes has grown to be an exclusive, international brand with "faux-bakeries" in Boston, London and Los Angeles. Over the past 10 years, an inspiring community of collectors has formed, prompting customers to camp outside the stores for up to two weeks for limited edition product releases. Click through the story above to see more about the events, places and people that make up the brand.

Mike & Nadeem Sitting In A Tree, W-O-R-K-I-N-G

Flaming Fingertips

Last Friday our new friends Mike and Nadeem stopped by our headquarters to share some laughs, magic, ideas and food with us. Both of these fine gentlemen keep themselves busy with endless projects, which I’ll elaborate on in a moment, but their work ethic is beyond measure and would make the average person’s head explode!

Mike Falzone

Meet Mike Falzone! Mike is a YouTube personality, author, and musician that hails from Connecticut. He puts out new videos every Tuesday and Friday via his own YouTube channel, as well as hosting a daily show for Waywire called TweetTap where he reads some of the day’s best tweets “so you don’t have to!” Mike officially became an author by raising the money needed to release his book, “Never Stop Shutting Up: A Book of Advice and Other Things You Didn’t Ask For“, using the crowdsourced funding website, Kickstarter. When he’s not busying himself with the aforementioned projects he can be found writing, recording, and playing original music too! Mike’s enthusiasm for life is infectious and everyone could gain something by looking at the world through the ridiculously fun filter that he does.

Nadeem Mazen

This is Nadeem Mazen. Nadeem is the co-founder of both danger!awesome and Nimblebot, the former being a laser cutting and engraving shop with a focus on hands-on learning, and the latter being an interactive design firm specializing in software and video. Nimblebot’s most recent project was making a short film called Silicon Prairie which followed the Reddit Internet 2012 Bus Tour and shows how a free and open internet is as important to the midwest as it is to Silicon Valley. They’ve also worked with such high profile clients as The Boston Globe, Samsung, and more! You’d think juggling two companies would keep Nadeem busy enough, but he doesn’t stop there, he also teaches a course at School of the Museum of Fine Arts which focuses on showing students how they can monetize their various creative passions. Nadeem brings in guest speakers as part of the curriculum to talk about how they’ve found success in doing what they love, which is precisely why Mr. Falzone was in town. I hope to join him in his classroom soon!

Juice Sandwich

After we gave our entrepreneurial guests the grand tour of our offices and warehouse some of the gang accompanied them for lunch at one of our favorite local lunch spots, Tennessee’s BBQ. They have some of the best macaroni and cheese around, so I made sure they brought some back for me after they were done literally stuffing their faces.

Earshot

I didn’t even have to use my A.K., so I simply have to say: Friday was a good day.
