The opening of Johnny Cupcakes London has come. Out of all my countless, risk-taking, strange endeavors… this has got to be the most successful project yet.
For the past 10 years we’ve been shipping to international customers who have ordered online. Starting from when I was a teenager shipping JC t-shirts from my bedroom at my parents house. These aren’t just customers, they’re all crafty individuals who have been inspired and motivated in one way or another, through the Johnny Cupcakes brand. Every other customer I’ve met, has started their own business or personal project. The dedication and support they’ve given us throughout the years, has allowed me to open up some shops, employee my friends and family, travel to places I’ve never been before — and to share my experiences and learning lessons with others.
I’m not exaggerating when I say that people flew out & traveled from around the world to come out to this opening. I think I’ve met customers from almost every country. People of all ages, styles & different walks of life. What they all share in common is a positive mental attitude, and a love for this brand. Every t-shirt marks a place in time, a memory, a celebration, or a friendly reminder that anything is possible.

Nearly everyone who camped out and/or waited in line all day and night, expressed that it was one of the best experiences of their lives. It may seem silly to a person who isn’t a part of this community based brand. Throughout the past 10 years of running my brand, I’ve witnessed countless customers make new friends, loved ones, and family through Johnny Cupcakes. Whether it be online through our Facebook Fan Page, or at our in-store releases and celebrations. This brand is a strong community if I’ve ever seen one.
Despite the sleepless nights and hard work – we did not close the door on anyone. I made sure to stick around to have an individual conversation, high-five & big hug with every single person who came out to the grand opening of Johnny Cupcakes London. My team and didn’t end up leaving until midnight. And it was like this the entire day & night.

This line/queue of people went all the way down Fouberts Place/Carnaby, wrapping around Regent Street. I apologize for any cluster or frustration we may have caused the neighbors. However it seemed like everyone was in just as much joy as we were.
To my family, the Johnny Cupcakes team, my best friends, and our loyal customers — thank you for one of the greatest memories. It would not of been possible without you.
