Dropping some knowledge in a few days. Come hang out and learn from my experience, mistakes, etc.. Lots of information that I wish I knew 9 years ago when I first started my brand. Click here for a bit more about the Johnny Cupcakes Lecture Series. Hopefully I’ll see ya there!
While in NYC over this past weekend, I met up with my friends Andie + Nicole at Andie’s workplace, Dunderdon. They were having a cozy little opening for the new artwork that was on display.
I met some new + old pals.
Hot cider was the perfect antidote for the crumby, cold weather.
I want this photo so bad.
Andie, Nicole and I grabbed some takoyaki after catching a wonderful movie– The Fantastic Mr. Fox. I definitely got all teary eyed when the wolf in the distance raised its paw.
Chomp chomp chomp.
Oh yeah– I forgot to mention that I played some serious tricks on people in the city of New York. We went to some fashion party shindig, and everyone there seemed to have been taking themselves far too serious. To lighten up the party, I pulled out this fake, realistic, human finger. While carrying it around in a dirty, crumpled up napkin- I would ask people if they knew where the trash was. I would pretend to be freaked out, and unveil the very real looking severed finger. I think I made 30+ girls scream, and 40+ dudes give me disgusted looks. Some repeated quotes were- “What the F%&# is that?!” and, “Who the F%&# are you?!”
Just because you wear fancy clothes, doesn’t mean you have to have no emotions and a cold heart. Lighten up people.
Also, we were at the corner of an intersection, waiting to cross. I knew this one guy was eavesdropping on our conversation, so I played a little trick on him. While talking with my friends, I said, “Guy’s, I really don’t know what I should do with this. I’m definitely bringing it to the police station, I just feel sick carrying it around.” I then turned towards this eavesdropping stranger, and asked him for advice. This guy jumped back 4 feet and nearly puked. SCORE!
I’ve been living out of a suitcase for a while now, but it’s been well worth it. Below you will see a photo of my luggage. Just kidding.. sorta.
Below you will find a cluster of photos from some of my most recent lecture series travels.
Nati Jay is a long long time customer. Very genuine dude, has a wonderfully creative sister, and a sweet mom. My whole family knows Nati Jay’s name by heart from seeing so many of his orders over the years. This guy is going to do something big some day.
Thank you for the lifetime support Nati Jay. You’re a good dude.
Catch Phrase ’til the break of dawn.
Thank you everyone for inviting me to lecture at your schools, and for doing a wonderful job setting everything up. And thank you all for listening. Hopefully you can all learn from my learning lessons, mistakes, experience, tips, tricks + advice. Judging from the positive feedback and overflowing amount of e-mails, you now have a great start to building your own independent business.
Rufioooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

I’ve been living out of my suitcase for a long time now. Half from traveling and half from not ever un-packing. I was recently in Kentucky and New Mexico for lectures (in which I still need to blog about). I decided last minute to get away to New York City. Both to check out my good friends band, and to visit friends. I have some photos that I’m going to post in the next couple days. Right now I’m checking out of my hotel, snagging some toast + jelly, and catching a ride home from a friendly stranger.

Originally I was going to be leaving around 5pm, but I’d like to get home and pick up my New Mario Bros Wii game! Yeah, I’m a nerd. However, if you have any childhood that has involved Mario, and you’ve seen the new trailer for this game, then you’ll know where I’m coming from. I know people who are purchasing Wii solely because they want to play/own this new Mario Bros game.
