Nike Coraline Dunks.

A strange package arrived at my home the other day. It came in a spooky looking box.

All wrapped up in cloth, accompanied with a postcard – I found this pair of Nikes. Apparently there were only 100-1,000 pairs of these made, worldwide. Only 100 with the oversized buttons like mine. Coraline, a horror novel, by the British author Neil Gaiman – will soon be made into an animated stop-motion horror fantasy film, scheduled to be released in theaters on February 6, 2009. He teamed up with Tim Burton to bring this interesting story to life. I guess you can’t purchase these shoes anywhere, they have to either be given to you or you can win them by watching the movie.

Look at these details though! Nifty buttons, homemade-esq stitching, neat fabric and other hidden gems.

You can’t see it here, but the soles even glow in the dark!

Be sure to go see Coraline on Feb 6th for your chance to win a free pair of these crafty, limited, collectible dunks. Thanks Rob and Wieden+Kennedy!

Lecture: Boston Latin School

Boston Latin School is the oldest public school in America with a continuous existence. It was founded April 23, 1635 by the Town of Boston. You even have to take a test to get into this high school…

Look at these neat lockers! I didn’t have lockers at the high school / Charter School I went to. My school was in an old hotel + aquarium – but it had a roof over our heads! Although I did have a locker when I was in public schools for a little bit. I even fit inside of mine!

So I was asked to speak at Boston Latin School, after school hours. I was a little hesitant because I didn’t know how many students would actually stay after school to listen to someone lecture. To my surprise (and the school’s surprise) the entire hallway was an enormous, clustered line filled with hundreds of students waiting to get into the room I was speaking in. There were so many people that we had to move to the gigantic auditorium.

I shared my story, knowledge, ideas, do’s, don’ts and a whole bunch of other stuff. Thank you everyone who set this up, who attended, and who helped me out. It was a very fun + successful event!
