Zombies Ahead!

I thought this was pretty neat;

Chris Lippincott, director
of media relations for the Texas Department of Transportation,
confirmed that a portable traffic sign at Lamar Boulevard and West 15th
Street, near the University of Texas at Austin, was hacked into during
the early hours of Jan. 19.

“It was clever,
kind of cute, but not what it was intended for,” said Lippincott, who
saw the sign during his morning commute. “Those signs are deployed for
a reason — to improve traffic conditions, let folks know there’s a road
closure.”

“It’s sort of amusing, but not at all helpful,” he told FOXNews.com

Imagine seeing this sign on your way home from seeing a zombie movie at the theaters? Followed by people dressed as zombies, chasing you. Hmmm… ideas ideas…

Back To The Future review.

I had the pleasure of presenting one of my favorite films / having a neat little event with The Coolidge Corner Theatre this past Saturday night.

Selling out the Theatre with online ticket sales, we decided to move it to an even bigger room. People drove from Connecticut, New York and all over Massachusetts to make it out – and we didn’t want to have to turn anyone away. Especially because it started at midnight and was extremely cold out… in the single digits.

The line kept growing with hundreds + hundreds of people. Since we switched theaters to accommodate everyone, the movie had to start a little bit later. So, to keep everyone warm (and alive) – we let in as many people as we could, to fill up one of the other screening rooms… and then made the switch at the appropriate time.

This lucky fella who happened to be first in line, got number one! I had two exclusive t-shirts available at the movie. One was a dark, navy blue and was number up to 60. Each t-shirt had a different number to guarantee authenticity. This limited navy one sold out real quick. I also have a black one that will be available soon in-stores and online.

Cozy + warm, the theatre began to fill up with anxious Johnny Cupcakes customers + late night movie-goers.

We raffled off a whole bunch of stuff. The big item was the Johnny Cupcakes snow tube, which should be available any day now… we’re just waiting on that big shipment.

I apologize about the freezing weather. I’m assuming that it wont be that cold during the rest of the year during the Johnny Cupcakes Presents events. Thank you everyone who helped make this possible! And thanks to everyone who came out. In addition to my friends, customers, employees, sister + neighbor – my mom even took a nap so she could rest up + make it out to the movie. It was a huge success, and will only get better (weather-wise, raffles, movies, silly commercials, giveaways, exclusives, etc..)

This March, Johnny Cupcakes Presents: Karate Kid at the Coolidge Corner Theatre. Stay tuned for more info..
