While being borderline sick and inside catching up on work, I thought I’d search for some vintage Halloween costumes. I didn’t want to show too many, so I’ll post more before Halloween. Below you will find the first batch of selected creepy + interesting, vintage costumes. I think the creepiest and best part about costumes from back in the day, is the fact that there were no computers, little to no television, and little machinery. So that means there was some hardcore imagination, hand sewing + hand painting going on.
These little kids in homemade rabbit suits look possessed. Why did people from the 1800′s all look the same? This photo is a bad example, but it made me think of that.

I think this kids costume was made before the general population figured out that putting bags over a child’s face was a bad idea. Well, he looks like he’s having a blast jamming away on the keys. Go get ‘em champ!

Gas masks are more cool than scary. However, when you have an elderly woman reppin a gas mask with the utmost seriousness going on, things start to get a little eerie.

The evil stepmother and step sisters from Cinderella. Look at their little demented postures! I wonder if these were based off of the book, before there was a movie. It must of been. Those paper mache esq masks are something else.
